Howdy, my name is Chad Groetsch. During one year in college I completely ruined my ability to simply eat at a restaurant and take it at face value. You see, my roommate was the incoming editor of the the St Cloud State University newspaper The Chronicle. He needed a writer and for some bizarre reason he settled for me.With that I began a weekly campaign to eat my way into the annals of St Cloud writing history with my column Grub. Don’t remember it? That’s ok. You’d have to have been around St Cloud in 1995-96 to have even seen it. Still, being a college student with a job to go eat and write about it was pretty groovy…but I digress. The crux of this convoluted story is that after this year of serving my fellow man by offering up tasty tidbits of dining delectability I found that the reviewing would never stop. Yes, every time I ate out my formula for reviewing would continue on regardless of the paycheck. Poor servers would be propped up by my analyses of their good and bad service habits, friends would hear me drone on about the merits of fresh ground beef over frozen patties, and worst of all a former girlfriend would bemoan going out to eat with me because she just wanted to eat and not talk about it.

While the complete focus of this blog is not simply to talk about food. It forms the meat of a lot of the posts. Expect a healthy portion of thoughtful and potentially uplifting pros and opinions here as well when the time is right and the muse strikes me.
